In Maine our scallop season runs during the winter months from December to April. Our fisherman take their boats out in the surrounding bays within 3 miles of the shoreline and drag for the scallops along the ocean floor of the icy cold Atlantic waters. The scallops are then brought to land and immediately vacuumed sealed and frozen in one pound, single layer packages. When thawed slowly in the refrigerator they taste just as fresh as they day they are caught. These scallops are never soaked in fresh water and as a result are full of flavor. We boast that our scallops caught along the Maine Coast are the best tasting scallops!
